Serve this chunky vegetable potage soup with crusty whole grain bread!
This soup supplies over 17 grams of whole grain per 8-ounce serving and meets critera as a “Excellent Source” of whole grains.
Potage Soup Mix Ingredients:
Wild rice blend, grains, whole wheat pasta, corn, onion, carrots, celery, parsley, leeks, chives and herbs. No added salt, preservatives or MSG.
Allergen Information: This product contains durum whole wheat pasta.
Recipe Additions:
1 tablespoon oil
1 pound thinly sliced pork cutlet, chop or tenderloin
10 cups chicken or vegetable broth
1 10-ounce box frozen or fresh broccoli pieces
Potage Soup Recipe Directions:
In a 4 or 5 quart pot start by sautéing the sliced pork in oil. Stir in contents of vegetable seasoning packet. Add broth and contents of rice packet, bring to a simmer, cover and cook 40 minutes. Add pasta shells and simmer ten minutes longer, uncovered. Add broccoli pieces, continue cooking, covered, 5 minutes longer. Turn off heat and let stand until ready to serve this fine whole grain potage.

Vegetable Potage Soup Recipe:
Start this potage soup by simmering the broth and adding contents of vegetable and rice packets. Continue cooking as directed above without adding the meat. For a complete protein meal top servings with grated cheese.
Crock Pot/Slow Cooker Recipe Directions:
Recommended crock pot: 4 quart
Preparation:
- In a large skillet sauté meat in oil until lightly browned.
- Stir in contents of seasoning packet.
- Transfer mixture to bowl of slow cooker. (May cover and refrigerate overnight.)
Cooking:
- Add broth and wild rice to crock pot.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 8 hours.
- Add whole wheat pasta shells, cover and cook for 15 minutes.
- Add broccoli and cook 15 minutes, and serve.
