Springtime scallions and a medley of herbs make this versatile green onion dip mix or sandwich spread. Makes an excellent spinach dip as well with the addition of fresh or frozen chopped spinach.
Green Onion Dip Mix Ingredients:
Green onions, chives, chopped onion, celery salt, basil, dill and savory herbs.
Blend contents of packet into one cup sour cream mixed with one cup of mayonnaise. Allow to stand 30 minutes or refrigerate overnight.

Serve with cut-up raw vegetables such as carrots, yellow summer squash, cauliflower, mushrooms and blanched green beans.
Green Onion Sandwich Spread Directions:
Spread on good bread or a bagel. Top with sliced fresh tomatoes and shredded cheese or any variety of sandwich meats.
Herbed French Bread:
Stir contents of packet before measuring out one tablespoon herb blend. Mix the tablespoon of mix with one cup softened butter, allow to stand 30 minutes. Spread on French or other good bread and toast under broiler about 3 minutes until browned on edges. Serve in a breadbasket with dinner. Save extra herb mix for another use.

Directions:
Bake in a small casserole at 400 degrees for 30 minutes and serve hot with crackers or bread. |
