FRONTIER SOUPS ADDS GOURMET WHOLE GRAIN BREAKFAST OPTION

With consumers attuned to finding easy, and tasty, ways to add more whole grains to their diets, Frontier Soups is adding Colorado Morning Oatmeal Breakfast™ cereal to its whole grains line.

The just-add-water whole grain oatmeal mix has dried cranberries and a brown sugar and walnut streusel packet. It provides 46 grams of whole grain per serving, which nearly meets a full day’s 48 gram recommendation. The 11.75-ounce mix will display the Whole Grains Council sticker as an Excellent Source of Whole Grains. The oatmeal mix is all natural with no added salt or preservatives and will serve four.

Each ingredient is hand packed in layers into clear cellophane bags, which is the company’s signature packaging style for its line of gourmet Hearty Meal mixes, according to Trisha Anderson, Frontier Soups’ founder. Attendees at the Summer Fancy Food Show in New York July 9-11 will be able to sample the new oatmeal at Booth No. 5219.

“People certainly are more aware of how important it is to incorporate whole grains into their diets but, in our experience, they won’t buy products just because they contain whole grains,” Anderson said. “They really have to be good.
